Ordinary Man

I’m just an ordinary man

 a realization that I am

When I was young I said I can 

Be extraordinarily++ the man

Now I’m just a fan

Rooting for another 

Someone smarter and younger

Look my way U can

I’m just an ordinary man

Tryin to withstand 

The storms of life;

 the quicksand 

Had these dreams these fantasies 

As a boy and as a teen

Time somehow caught up to me 

Buried me and all those aspirations 

Lost in time ; how many lost creations?

I’m just this ordinary man 

To all that look my way 

Doing what I can 

To regenerate the past 

Again and again

An ordinary man 

Trying to withstand 

The aging process

Ordinary in every way

Extraordinary I wouldn’t say

Ordinary —a step better than lame
